These Awards spotlight employers who not only recognize the skills and contributions that people with disabilities bring to their workforce, but who also have adopted inclusive policies and hiring practices that allow people with disabilities to fairly compete for employment. Keene State College received a statewide award this year, along with four other employers from around the state.

All of the nominated businesses were honored at the Employment Leadership Breakfast in Concord in early October, with Governor Lynch on hand to present awards. This leader ship event launched Disability Employment Awareness Month, with its 2009 theme,Expectation + Opportunity = Full Participation with the intention of urging employers, as they seek to fill positions, to embrace the richness of America’s diversity by considering the talents of all workers, including workers with disabilities.

Please join us in congratulating these employers that were recognized for their leadership in employment practices and policies.
