WE ARE SUCCESS Stories

Every individual brings value.

When employers recognize the value that able workers, with disabilities, bring to the workplace, everyone prospers. Whether hired for a professional, technical, administrative or advocacy-related role, the bottom line is that employing able people with disabilities makes good business sense.

At the Monadnock Center for Successful Transitions, we share knowledge and build awareness among employers, employees, able workers with disabilities and their families.

We also offer resources to young people with disabilities who are transitioning from high school to the work force. We make connections that have life changing results, for everyone.

“The NH Transition Community of Practice was responsible for bringing the START program to the attention of agencies and school districts. That collaboration laid the groundwork for the program at GBCC. Having a prestigious organization like the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside offer job shadowing and internships was the best possible outcome we could imagine.”
Heidi Wyman, Transition Resource Network

“We’ve always valued the importance of internships in hospitality, and the START program provided the opportunity to work closely with the community. By joining forces with local agencies and GBCC, we were able to meet the needs of the hotel, as well as provide opportunities for students transitioning from high school into the workforce.”
