Sheila Mahon, Project Director
Sheila has worked in human services with individuals with disabilities for over 20 years. For the past 16 years she has been with Monadnock Developmental Services (MDS). Her professional experience includes job development, direct care, and service coordination, for those with disabilities. As the Project Director for the Monadnock Center for Successful Transitions (MCST), a cross-disability project housed at MDS, she oversees and coordinates all project objectives. Sheila has a BA degree in Sociology and an MS degree in Management and Organization.

Molly McNeill, Project Coordinator
Molly joined the Monadnock Center for Successful Transitions (MCST) in 2007 from the business field. She has experience in corporate finance and business administration. A native of the Monadnock Region, Molly returned to New Hampshire with a goal of working in human services. At MCST, the combination of work and life experience enables her to connect with the business community and improve employment for people with disabilities. Molly holds a BA degree in English from Keene State College.

Steve Bigaj, Ph.D., Site Director
Steve is a Professor in the Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood Department at Keene State College in Keene, NH and Assistant Dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Connecticut with an emphasis on the transition to postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. His experiences as an educator are varied and include public school teaching, teacher training, consulting, and administering educational programs. Dr. Bigaj’s expertise and research interests span issues in the field of special education with a primary focus on transition issues for youth with disabilities, special education teacher training, self-determination, and inclusive teaching practices. His primary focus is on providing technical assistance and professional development to school districts and agencies related to improving programming and outcomes for youth with disabilities.

Betsy Street, Project Coordinator
Betsy’s experience crosses several business sectors, from hi-tech to public schools to educational farms to financial services. She has been a writer, a manager of small and large teams, a hiring consultant, an exhibit designer, and a curriculum director. She graduated from Wellesley College with a dual degree in Astronomy and American Studies. She has served on several non-profit boards in the Monadnock region, and is currently on the Nelson School Board. Her focus at MCST is coordinating pilot site projects, and developing instructional materials that facilitate work-based learning experiences for high school and college students.
